Death of the Dalek

Rewatching some of the 9th Doctor's work and the family happened to agree upon watching "Dalek". Rowan rooted for the Dalek the entire time and was crushed when it died. Poor thing. At least she has Dalek Freddy to cuddle!

Fly Away Home

How did I not get a pic of our Pathfinders group?! Spent an awesome day at friends, first with Nicole and then with Nathaniel and our gaming troupe. Let me just say that evening gaming sessions work SO much better for me cause this sessions WAS THE BOMB! We didn't end up fighting anything but it didn't matter cause the roleplaying was so magnificently grand! Best gaming session E-V-E-R!!!! Thank you Nathaniel!!!!!!!!!!

Zombies!

Those zombies had better run cause I am a kick ass ninja goth Amy! Spent the day at the loft with Erin and her really awesome co-workers playing games and eating delicious food! Then back to her place where she was nice enough to partake of my hideous wine choice (this is what happens when I DON'T chose wine based on the label!) and a B5 sleepover! WOOT!

Other than a love of reading, I am hoping I pass on my love of puzzles. Seems I am doing a pretty good job with this so far!

In Motion

I love that her whole body is blurry but her face is pretty much in focus :-) It has been a bit of a gap between post because I was silly and got a bunch of virus's on my computer and have been scared of my laptop since. Yay!

How to Train Your Dragon

Tutoring session for Rowan, Dorian into more graphic novels (and he had to learn the hard way that the Japaneses graphic novels are written backwards lol) then it was off to eat Subway and How to Train Your Dragon 2. Now if Rowan could just stop the sass, everything would be so much better.

Getting my son into graphic novels while Rowan has her very first tutoring session. I have succeeded as a parent! Rowan was a little shy at first but warmed up quickly, writing in her journal tonight that she had fun with Julia and she loves her! Daaawwww!

Rockstar Friday!

I got to hang out with Erin today! YAY! She let me watch some of her Babylon 5 (now I understand what all the characters are REALLY thinking about - hint: it isn't space!), she gave me a manicure, made me some killer Singapore Slings and fed me pizza. Thanks for hanging out with me Erin! YAY!

Creative Juices

Although I wouldn't count today as a complete success (turns out that Scouts is on Wednesday NOT Thursday and that the school I was told it was held in, is actually not where Scouts are held, and it will be an hour to, and an hour walk back from it) I did, however, get a hold of the government with regards to my paperwork, called Tekksavey to figure out my billing, and I met with a wonderful young woman who is attending Sir Will HS French Immersion program who is willing to be hired on as a tutor for Rowan. To top off my day, I spent two hours at my Starbucks buckling down and getting some writing done. Turns out, pumpkin spiced lattes are the energy my writing needs. I find that when I write at home, I am too easily distracted and wander away from my work. Currently now working on chapter three!

Love is Pets

A productive day! I got everything done on my "needs to do" list AND got in some Babylon 5 watching with Erin and Kismet. Season one done! Tomorrow is meeting with a possible tutor for Rowan (thank you Nicole for setting that up!!!) and then Scouts Canada! The kids are so excited to go after spending the summer talking with Derek who used to be a Scouts Leader.

Cozy Warm

Curling up on Sunday morning, just about to get the day started. The quilt that you can see was made by my Nanny. It is the exact one I used to curl up in when I was little while watching tv. My Nanny was pretty awesome!

My mastery of power tools is complete! Took a while to disassemble my moms deck, but I got it done!

Thunder Clouds

The camera on my phone sucks for taking dark pictures outside! The entire drive up to my Moms trailer was heralded by lightening and thunder. It was awesome watching it light up the sky in the distance, watching it ark from cloud to cloud to the ground. It was a little less beautiful and a little more scary when we started driving through were the actual lightening and thunder really was...

First Day of School

Dorian wasn't nervous at all but Rowan was a wreak. She kept worrying about how none of her friends would be in her class or the teacher would hate her. I let her bring the Doctor to school with her, he seemed to give her courage ;-) Turns out, this is the first year that both of my kids are in solid grades (no grade 3, grade 4 split) and both are with each and every person they hoped to be with. Fingers crossed that Jaden will leave Dorian alone this year and that Diego will leave Rowan alone.

Cosplay Besties!

Sharing this Fan Expo with Michele has been one of the best experiences EVER. I am so glad that she could come and enjoy herself with me. I think she will back me up in saying one of the best parts was the hot tub foot massage! BBF4EVR!
