I loved how the flames seem to be dancing with this log. Also, with the problems my phone has been having with focus, I was thrilled with the detail of the wood grain.

Tall Tree Tails

Whenever I am outside relaxing, I always look up and am amazed at how beautiful the canopy is above me. I love the way the pine trees look soft and fuzzy. I know I have taken a pic like this last year, but this view always fills me with peace.

Family in the Sun

My weekly walk with Steve and Nicole got moved from Friday to Thursday evening due to an out of town engagement on Steves part. Rather than take our normal route, Steve got us to walk along the Ottawa River and we stopped at the beach with the inuksuk's just as the sun was setting. It was beautiful and I wish I had have been able to enjoy it more and not in so much pain. I was such a downer! Sorry Nicole and Steve!

Rollercoasters

Missing my kids like crazy and Marco let me take them for the day today. We had a morning playdate with Kerri and Mya, lunch out, then we saw Antman! It was a lot better than I was expecting - Marvel girl all the way! After spending over $200 on back to school supplies and not even getting shoes, it was back to their dads. Highs and lows today. Also, random Canadian geese.

Eddie the Shark

The kids have been at the grandparents all week which is sucky but mucho looking forward to camping with them in just over a week. And we get to do Halloween at the campground! In honor of that, I bought Eddie this shark costume, cute cause it is a shark and adorable cause Eddie hates water. He hates it :-D

Weekly walk with my buds along the canal. Saw these purple flowers and couldn't resist. Rs favorite colour right now is purple. Tried to get a pic of the bee drinking nectar - camera on the phone is sucky. Boo!

Got to see the kids last night before they got picked up by the grandparents this morning. Lots of fun with Mice and Mystics was had, even thought Dorian had an upset tummy. I am going to miss them like crazy this week. Already crying. Geez.

Happy Birthday Baby

Today my son turns eleven. Eleven! I don't even know where the time has gone! He was once so small that he fit in the crook of my elbow and now he is almost as tall as me. For my not so little boy, I wish a year filled with happiness and hope, luck and ingenuity. Happy Birthday Baby!

Fun Times

I have no idea what inspired me to host a sleep over birthday party for four eleven year olds! It was hectic, it was loud, and it was lots of fun. Although the Hobbit marathon was a dud, the kids had a blast playing minecraft and having competitions and bouncing around the walls.

Make a Wish!

Already feeling crazy with so many kids in my house! Thank goodness they are all having fun! I think this party is a complete success :-)

CALYPSO!

Since Calypso is a water park, it really isn't a good idea to drag your phone with you so the only pics I got were during lunch. R was really brave and did the big slides with D and I, though the family favorite was the lazy river. D liked the ride that he could run me under the waterfall best.

I think this day trip will be counted as one of the highlights of the summer! Definitely had a ton of fun, suffering from lack of properly applied sun screen now though :-(

Second Downtown Excursion #2

Took the kids to the War Museum and had lunch with Erin. D loved the museum and R was horrified. I think that learning about our hisotry, good parts and bad is essential to understanding where our country comes from and where we should be heading.

Took the kids to see the Changing of the Guard. D was interested, R was grumpy to be awake so early and I loved the bag pipe band and all the pomp and circumstance!

Avengers Assemble!

The kids and I were joined at the theater by Nicole and Nathaniel to watch the Avengers: Age of Ultron. This time is was me who had to pee!!!

Single Girl Cart

Is that a cart with cat food, dog food, a ton of frozen single serving meals and a very large chocolate bar? Why Aimee, that must mean your children have headed to their fathers for the week!

Steve invited me to see Doctor Strangelove with him in the park downtown. Was a total hoot!
