First Snow

Dim Sum Birthday Wishes

Today the Chan's treated me to a belated birthday lunch of Dim Sum! The summer was so busy and we never seemed to get the time to do it. A Happy Birthday shout out to Nicole whose actual birthday was today!

The Best View

Today Steve, Nicole, Gen and I headed out to Gatineau Park to do some hiking. Though it was overcast, the colours were amazing and beautiful, and my picture doesn't do them justice at all. Overwhelming exhaustion now....

Purple Colour Splash

Today was Gaby's funeral. Gaby is the mom of Julia, the tutor that R had all last year. She had been suffering for years from cancer, and passed away very early Sunday morning. One of her wishes was that everyone wear bright colours to celebrate her life and when I walked in the door right after, a purple binder with a holographic print was splashing purple all over my wall and made me think of her.

Waffle Eggs

D got up extra early to make himself a special breakfast all on his own. The bottom is one plain eggo, then a slice of tomato, scrambled eggs, topped with cheese slices.

Dojo Time

The kids are having a BLAST at the dojo. Several of the other white belts who have been there longer got their first yellow stripes today and the Sensei says that if they keep trying as hard as they can, they should get their first yellow stripe soon too.

Thank You For Being You

Lounging around the house with Mom and Craig over for dinner. A quiet affair filled with turkey and a HUGE pumpkin pie!

Mass Effecting

Okay, yeah. My pic of the day is the box of a video game. Actually, my most favorite video game. Of all time. I recommend this game more than the Sims (which I have played since the 90s), World of Warcraft or any of my computer game loves. The story is rich and immersive, I can't count the number of times this game has made me cry. If I could only recommend one game ever, this one would be it. This is also my Christmas present to my big brother, so shhhhhh ;-)

Sushi Rose?

I thought the sushi looked like a rose. Steve thought it looked like something else. Now he has learnt that I will take advantage of any situation to get a good blog pic for the day ;-) Thanks Steve! You are the bestest!

My Little Dragons

They are loving their martial arts classes and their gis came in just in time for class today. The teacher knows just how to handle each of my kids. A little praise and R is just beaming with joy, a nod encouragement and D is even more enthusiastic. Martial arts - expensive but worth it.

Black-eyed Susans are blooming with the cooler weather. This particular shade of yellow always reminds me of my bestie. HAPPY MOVING DAY MICHELE!

Doctor Day

D had a doctor appointment downtown so we took some time after to chill at Starbucks and have lunch out!

Haircuts!

Pretty lame weekend with me being horrifically sick, but haircuts were had by D and me! I asked for a trim - she took off 4 inches..... not happy.

Going South

Been chilly, and being sick doesn't help the feeling of cold. Wish I was heading south like the geese are!
