Sick Day

R came home from her Dads feeling like crap and a giant, can't sleep, eat or breathe cold. A day off school to recuperate seems to have done wonders. Also, Onyx has realized that if he snuggles with R, she will pet him or brush him without even noticing.

For some unknown reason I have boxes in my basement of cloths that I wore when I was a teenager. Today R went shopping at Closet D'Mama and picked out some of her favorites. Most she was banned from. I couldn't help but look at some of the things I wore and shake my head.

After R announcing this morning that she "absolutely had NOTHING to wear!" we were off to Walmart to pick up some new pants. Sale - $8 per pair = both R and D getting some fancy new duds.

10 Kilometer Marathon

Not your typical marathon, but today Steve, Nicole and I walked 10 kilometers. Knee is SSOOOOOO sore. Got a present that I will be sending in the mail too!

First Day Blues

It is officially the start of a new school year. Why does the first day of school feel more like New Years than December 31st to me? If you look closely, you can see how very hard R is trying not to cry. Got to the school 45 minutes early to sort out her class and officially got her moved to English. D is having no problems at all, hardly able to stand still he wants to go see his friends so badly.

R is in Mr Shorts class!!!! I couldn't be happier. As you can tell from this picture, R is not exactly echoing that statement. She only knows two girls in her class and is desperately missing her friends.

D and his two best friends (Kyle is on tipy toes - he isn't really that tall!). Loving his new hair cut, such a cool dude my little man. Not so little anymore really. In a cruel twist of fate, D is also in the same class as all of Rs French friends.

Upset Tummy

Halloween on the lake is really biting me in the ass. Or should I say, adding pounds to my ass. So much candy! Ugh!

Inching Through Life

Packing up the trailer to go home after a great week is always a pain. No one was in a good mood, everyone was cranky and tired and it was scorching hot outside. Not a good mix. Took a break from the packing to snap a quick shot of this caterpillar making its way across my mothers railing. They move pretty fast!

Stick Em Up!

Every year my mothers campground has a summer Halloween. For the last few years, it has fallen on Marcos week no fail. Was so excited this year when they finally got to trick or treat. I do understand now why Halloween is in October. Imagine wearing that suit in 30 degree weather - yuck! The kids kept getting asked if they were Bonnie and Clyde (she is actually a witch).

I See You

Practically had the entire beach to ourselves all week. Was lovely and quiet. Not so much on the weekends where there are scads of people, and children throw seaweed at each other. Love how blue the water is here.

I Couldn't Possibly!

"Eddie! Look at me!" He immediately turned his head away and stuck out his paw as if to say "I couldn't possibly! The paparazzi make my life too difficult!"

Water Wings

Our days at the trailer followed a very laid back routine. D would wake up at 7, play his 3DS until R woke up at 8. They did a lot of whisper fighting until I got up at 9 at which point they had breakfast and I had coffee and we lazed around playing out electronics and cuddling until lunch. After lunch it was down to the water for a few hours and I actually jumped off the dock this week! Snack time, and outside fun until dinner and then campfire!!!!

Snake In The Grass

This cute garder snake (who has obviously just had dinner) decided no amount of prodding would keep it from Grans lot. Will tried to shoo it away but it kept coming back to Ds delight.
