Goodbye Trailer

Another year at the trailer is done for my family. Summer is only half over, but somehow my heart feels heavy, like everything seems to be coming to a close; holidays, summer, childhood. How does everything pass so quickly that you don't even notice the time flowing by? What will next summer bring for me and my family? My three wishes: happiness, health and safety. Really, is there anything else that is needed?

Days at the Beach

Each and every day we had at least one trip to the beach to swim. Even the day that it was barely 18 outside and I huddled on the beach in my jeans and hoodie watching my kids turn blue in the water. Rowan has mastered the art of doing flips when thrown into the air and Dorian is too busy in his own world to notice pretty much anything,

Relaxation

Just having some fun laying around relaxing! Look at the totally impressed look on Eddies face here ;-)

Maladies

Bumps, bruises, scrapes and swelling. That is a good way to describe this weeks camping trip. Dorian's eye swelled up for no apparent reason, Rowan burned her thumb on a marshmallow roaster, Dorian tripped running into the water and scraped up his side and made a rather large gash in his knee, Rowan got "something" in her eye and freaked the heck out screaming her heart out in terror, Dorian had more inexplicable hive injuries that swelled and puffed along his waist to the size of a dollar bill. Those are only the bigger accidents. There were also the normal scrapes, cuts and bruises from just being kids. A hard week physically for my babies!

Dorian has the best eyes! I never saw this little guy till he went all crazy darting along the dirt road to catch him. Smallest frog I have ever seen!

Manic Icecream

Earring Selection

Top Left: These earrings perfectly match the beading in the necklace but when I put them on, my first reaction is they are too much for the necklace.

Top Right: I think these are my favorites. They are a large round ball stud and the picture doesn't show them justice because they sparkle a ton.

Bottom Left: These are just like the top right earrings but they are flattened discs instead of round balls. The picture shows them sparkling which is nice though.

Bottom Right: These are just my regular diamond studs. I like them but they don't really go with the necklace.

Cuddle Duck

I am guessing that the kitties missed us on our week long family vacation! Glue is not even this clingy. While putting things away I happened to notice that Kismet's adorable cuddle duck is on my bed. Apparently, when he can't cuddle me at night, he needs his duckie.

First Fire!

Dorian's first time setting up the fire and it was a total success! I lit everything just to be safe, but he did an amazing job! I wonder if it is just me, or is every boy (and man!) I have ever met obsessed with fire? I kept catching him poking the fire stick into the fire to "adjust" after telling him no several dozen times.

Story Time

Perhaps Dorian and Rowans most favorite part of the entire trip. Campfires! Marshmallows, singing and stories! Turns out that my darling children enjoy listening to stories of my childhood. They seem to especially enjoy embarrassing ones. The lounge chair has been officially dubbed the "storytellers chair".

Toasty

First fire was almost a failure until Adam came by and helped us out! Now I can reward myself with some ooey gooey goodness!

Sun is fun

First day of sun! WOOT! Now to let the wood dry out a bit and we can attempt a fire! First day warm enough for swimming too so y'all know who has a sunburn now....

Rain Rain Go Away

Second day of rain is not holding my kids back at all! Dorian went the protective way of swim goggles and a tarp while Rowan took a more sensable approach to the rain by grabbing an umbrella. Her face here is just plain classic. "I am NOT with him." Below is my moms dog who is not liking the rain. Or maybe she just doesn't like the rain jacket we forced her into then laughed at her about....

The Cottage Life

This has been my home for the last week. Sun, water, fun and relaxation! The first two days were a bit rainy (see below for the Lord of the Rings Marathon and how much Rowan enjoyed it) but boardgames were played, movies were watched and books were read to the enjoyment of most.

And the North Was Won!

Okay, to technically Nicole won at Game of Thrones but I feel, as the player of the Starks, I accomplished all the goals that the Starks actually had, and then some! I conquered the entire north and kept it. DONE! I also got the Iron Throne and some valarian steel! Grats to Nicole for winning!

Bestie Reunion!

There are some people that you see every day and make awkward small talk with but never really get to know. Then there are people that you get to see very rarely but it is like they have been in your life forever. On the precious occasions that I get to see my Bestie, it's like no time has past at all. <3 <3 <3

To Balloon or Not to Balloon?

So my TARDIS dress is coming along smashingly! The question now is whether to make the shorter skirt lay flat (left side) or balloon (right side)? The shorter skirt will be cut much shorter, Tracey just left a lot of fabric on the off chance I might want a balloon look. I also think I am going to need to get a crinoline for the longer skirt.

P.S. The longer skirt is going to be detachable if that changes things?!

Let Sleeping Cats Lay

Is Pippin the cutest kitten ever?! YUS! Erin is so lucky to have such a cutie! And he is growing like a weed! Did I mention that I also got to play video games with Erin? Cause I did! Eternity Clock! Doctor Who! WOOT!

Downtown!

I had another dress fitting yesterday! Getting so close to the finished product! Soon all will be revealed!

Canada Day

Spent the day with the Chan's playing boardgames and watching Firefly until Matt and Carlo came over for dinner which was delicious bbq done by Ken! YUMMY! Then after dinner entertainment was Carlo on the banjo, Matt on the guitar, Ken on the drying rack, Nathaniel on the spoons, Isabelle on the sandpaper, Nicole on the chopsticks and me on the glass canister! The evening capped off with two episodes of Orphan black and maple leaf ice cream. Excellent time was had by all!
